WIPO announces winners of the WIPO National Essay Competition 2020

The World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO) Nigeria Office has announced the winners of the first National Essay Competition over a virtual conversation on “Opportunities for Improved Access to Intellectual Property Education and Awareness in Nigeria’s Higher Institutions”. The panelists for this conversation were distinguished personalities:

  1. Prof. Ruth Okediji
  2. Mr. Tunde Mustapha
  3. Dr. Desmond Oriakhogba
  4. Ms. Faith Aboyeji
  5. Mrs. Toyosi Alabi
  6. Engr. (Dr). Umar Bindir

The conversation was moderated by WIPO Program Officer, Dr. Tobi Moody, who chaired the 5 man planning committee of the competition. Other members of the committee are:

  1. Mrs. Tolu Olaloye
  2. Mr. Damola Adediji
  3. Ms. Victoria Onyeagbako
  4. Mr. Moses Olanrewaju.

There were 15 winners of the competition. They are as follows:

  1. Ms. Susan Chioma Omeh (Overall winner) – University of Nigeria, Nsukka.
  2. Ms. Chantelle Chinwetalu (1st Runner up)- University of Nigeria, Nsukka.
  3. Mr. Olanrewaju Toheeb Balogun (2nd Runner up)- Lagos State University, Ojo.
  4. Mr. Rotimi Folajimi Owolabi – Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile- Ife.
  5. Mr. Chibuzo Paul Ndubisi- University of Nigeria, Nsukka.
  6. Mr. Habeebullah Asudemade- University of Ibadan, Ibadan.
  7. Ms. Blessing Anulika Nwankwo- Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile- ife.
  8. Ms. Rafiat Temitura Shittu- University of Lagos, Lagos.
