IP FOR KIDS ENUGU OUTREACH

An image from Intellectual Property For Kids outreach in Enugu by MIPLG

In a mission to sensitive Kids across Nigeria about Intellectual Property through the ‘Intellectual Property For Kids Outreaches’, My Intellectual Property Law Guide (MIPLG) in collaboration with members of the Intellectual Property Law Club, University of Nigeria (IPLC – UNN), Faculty of Law, led by Ms. Mirabel Chika Ngezelonye (President) held a value- oriented courtesy visit to the Urban Girls Secondary School (UGSS), located within the district of WTC, Enugu State.

The IPLC – UNN team were well received by the Vice Principal of UGSS; Mrs. Mirabel, who had gathered her students for active interaction on Intellectual Property Rights. The brilliant students have a good understand of creativity and innovation but were happy to learn of their relationship with the law, the “rights” accruing, how to protect their creations/inventions and the benefits of adding value to the society through creativity and inventiveness.

The outreach which spanned for 1hrs 30mins ended with a highly interactive discussion session. The IPLC – UNN team presented the school with a copy of the MIPLG IP for Kids to encourage the introduction on IP to the academic curriculum. The UGSS team led by the Vice Principal expressed unreserved gratitude and appreciation for the visit.

The outreach was an immense success to the glory of God. Our sincere appreciation goes to Ms. Victoria Onyeagbako (Founder, MIPLG), for being instrumental and an encouragement for the outreach. We wish to appreciate Mr. Christian Aniukwu and Mr. Charles Emejuo for their helpful recommendations and support.

The club is indeed grateful to its members who despite the strike, took out their time to grace the visit with their presence and those who worked from behind the scenes. Special appreciation to: Ezeibe Chiamaka, Director, Media and ICT; Okoroigwe Chiamaka, Secretary-General; Emeje Uyo, Asst. Secretary-General; Onwukwe Anthony; Victor Sunday; Usulor Chukwuebuka; Ugochuwku Bruno; Nwanna Chioma; Mmachi Offurum.

Indeed, team work is good work.
