This article is a brief representation of the structure and workings of the World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO), a United Nations self- funding agency and global forum for intellectual property (IP) services, policy, information and cooperation.
It further exposes a number of opportunities to be leveraged by intellectual property lawyers, students and/or enthusiasts for personal and career development. These are often under- utilised or neglected but should be exploited, especially in developing countries.
