IP FOR KIDS

Intellectual Property for Kids is developed to inculcate the knowledge and understanding of intellectual property (IP) at its basic and relatable level for kids.

This will be achieved with the help of teachers, instructors and parents to ensure that the activities in the book are carried out.

For Africa to appreciate and most utilize the various IP systems, there must be a change from the existing perception of IP for lawyers. The need for creators, inventors and the public to understand the roles IP play in our economies cannot be over- emphasized. The result will be increased creativity and innovation in Africa and respect for intellectual properties which positively impacts our economies.

As an organization committed to IP promotion and awareness in Africa, we understand the need for inculturation of creativity and innovation in the African child. Therefore, the need for “IP for Kids”.

We acknowledge the concerted efforts of dedicated members of MIPLG across Africa who contributed immensely to the development of this book and encourage parents, teachers and instructors to support IP interaction with their wards.
