Victoria Chigozirim Onyeagbako

Brief Profile

Victoria Chigozirim Onyeagbako is a Doctoral Researcher at Queen Mary University of London (QMUL) and recipient of the prestigious Herschel Smith IP Scholarship. She is a legal practitioner specialized in intellectual property law practice and advises on IP portfolio creation, IP rights management and commercialization. Prior to her PhD studies, Victoria served as the Project Manager and Stakeholder Engagement Officer of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) Nigeria Office (WNO) – a specialized agency of the United Nations (UN).

She has dedicated her career to making IP work for Africa and actively contributes to IP education, capacity building, youth engagement and development across Africa. She is the Founder of the Nigerian Intellectual Property Club (NIPC) – the national IP body for tertiary institutions in Nigeria – and serves as patron of IP clubs and law students’ associations in Nigeria.
 
Victoria’s research focuses on Performers’ welfare and rights under the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) framework. She is the Founder of My Intellectual Property Law Guide (MIPLG) and three-time awardee of the Global IP Leaders Award of the World Intellectual Property Review (WIPR). Victoria plays badminton.
