MIPLG is a network of African Intellectual Property (IP) and Competition Law Advocates leading and propagating IP education for implementation of IP and Competition laws in developing countries.
My Intellectual Property Law Guide (MIPLG) is a non-governmental organisation, founded in November 2019 by Victoria C. Onyeagbako, contributing to developing nations through the promotion of intellectual property (IP) and competition law.
Since our inception, we have hosted over eight (8) Webinars and fifteen (15) Personal Development Series. The 1st Edition of our Career Development and Mentorship Scheme (CDMS) for students and young professionals around Africa was launched in February 2020.
To engage the student community on IP and Competition, MIPLG organised the 2020 MIPLG International Debate Competition. This program was well received with 61 entries from students from various tertiary institutions in Nigeria, Ghana, Sierra Leone, Tanzania and Zambia. The competition returned the participants from University of Ibadan, Nigeria in first place, University of Ghana and University of Makeni, Sierra Leone in second and third place respectively.
We have the MIPLG IP Community which unifies experts, academics, innovators, creators, students, users and enthusiasts of intellectual property and competition law. To further unify students, MIPLG introduced Intellectual Property Clubs Association with its first Chapter in Nigeria. The Intellectual Property Club Nigeria (IPCN) unifies various IP Clubs in about 36 Institutions in Nigeria.
The MIPLG Blog and Library on its website has articles and other publications which are readily accessible for free. We maintain weekly engaging contents on all our social media handles to enlighten the Public on IP and Competition law.
We currently have our physical presence in about 8 African countries; Nigeria, Ghana, Tanzania, Cameroon, Sierra Leone, Benin Republic, Kenya and Zimbabwe even as we keep expanding into other African countries.
